Can Martin Luther be used to explain why Germany is against bailing out Greece?

I don’t know but this op-ed from this weekend’s New York Times thinks so. It’s an interesting premise, laying open Luther’s cultural legacy in Germany. I’m not sure I agree with it but it’s a different point of view.
